The TRUMC Foundation is thrilled to announce funding of a most worthy musical venture. Sarah Fletcher has been awarded full tuition to attend the Choristers Guild Institute, held July 16-20, 2018 at Wingate University.
According to their website:
The Institute is a 3-stage certification program (years 1, 2 and 3) for leaders of children’s and youth choirs (K-8) in churches and church schools. The certification process is designed to strengthen directors’ musical and pedagogical skills and to equip them to effectively integrate children in worship. Graduates of the three-summer program receive Choristers Guild “Certified Director of Young Singers” Certification, a valuable and respected professional credential, and become part of a close and supportive nationwide network of Institute alumni.
The TRUMC Foundation received Sarah’s request May 1st and gladly met the need with funds generated by the gracious gifts of Foundation contributors.
“The reputation of Choristers Guild and quality of leadership for this Institute is outstanding, and I believe the experience and knowledge gained at this conference would prove to be very helpful for me both as the director of our Youth Choir and coordinator of our children’s choir program,” Sarah said in her request.
For her contributions to the music life of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church and in appreciation for her dedication to educating and enhancing our congregation, the TRUMC is glad to assist Sarah in pursuing this professional development.
